Clothing Requirements For The Golf Club

Golf is often considered a classic game and like most it has a highly defined dress code just like most sports these days. This usually requires the golfer to go along to a golfing accessory or outfitters so they can be sure to obtain the correct attire. Of course, each individual golf course tends to have their own specific rules but by knowing what the typically acceptable standards are it will help you to ensure that you have the best experience possible. Remember, many golf courses will refuse to allow you to play if you are not dressed appropriately. Can you imaging the embarrassment of being turned away just because you weren’t wearing the right clothes.

Several aspects of male attire is not permitted on any golf course they try to play at. The two things that are not suitable in a golf course are shirts with no collar or no sleeve. Another area that is a no-no is the use of running pants and shoes that have metal studs. Clothes with displeasing logos or repulsive slogans on them are not allowed too. Moreover, sporting jeans or sandals are prohibited and this applies to women too.

Men can wear shorts however or fitted pants and any shirt they wear must have a collar plus foot ware must consist of sports or golfing shoes. If you are wearing golf shoes, ensure that they are soft spikes and are not metal spikes – most courses will not permit metal spikes on the green due to the damage that they can cause. When wearing a shirt, both long and short sleeved are permitted and if required a sweater that can be of the pullover variety or a turtle neck. The trend in wearing trainer socks has not be taken up by the golfing fraternity so socks should be of regular length and preferably plain.

There are other things to take along when golfing like the golf hand towel. Your golf hand towels will help you wipe the sweat from your clubs. Find ton of great buys on hand towels here.

For women you can wear such things as fitted shorts, properly fitting skirts and even Capri’s. Jeans, shorts or otherwise are not allowed neither are full length pants either. Remember though that shorts and skirts must not be too short and the general rule is no more than five inches above the knee. Although it not uncommon for a golf course to insist that the length of shorts and shirts is even longer. As far as shirts are concerned, like the men, they must also have a collar and if a sweater is chosen it must be a v-neck.

Women are also permitted to wear a sleeveless shirt as long as it has a collar, and short sleeve as well as long sleeve shirts are also permitted. Other things which are allowed on the golf course are socks which comp up till the ankles, and shoes which should be either golf or athletic. Socks must be a solid color, with minimal logos and tasteful designs. Another important to remember is that any accompanying person to the golf course should also follow the same dress rules. Since the dress code varies from one golf course to another, the wisest thing to do is to check their website or contact them to know what is allowed and what is barred.
