Wow. I never thought this would happen but it is. I finally moved into the digital age and got myself a digital camera. You know, the ones that don’t need any film. All my friends have had those for years but for some reason I never had a need. Well, now I do and I will share with you the reason for it.
I am starting a new hobby. It has to do with food and photography together. That’s right, food photography. That is the art of taking pictures of food. Most people don’t think about food photography because, well, they just don’t. but how do you think all those yummy pictures from menus get there?
There really is a lot to taking photographs of food that you might not know. The freshness of it is a big factor. The lighting of course is important. That has to do with all types of picture taking. But the most important aspect of food photos is the type of food. That’s right, a fresh salad is harder to make look yummy than a hot burger.
I’m trying to get my leg into the business of being a Los Angeles food photographer. There really is a big market for it. Lots of new food venues are opening up everywhere and they need someone to take pictures of their food.
Since I live in Los Angeles, it make it really easy and simple for me to drive there, talk to the owner and snap a few pictures. I am very excited about this new venture of mine.
